Music | Ellas Crean 2015
11th Creative Women Festival
The theatre, the auditorium and the Domed Hall at Conde Duque will all be settings for activities involving theatre, dance and music during the festival, making it one of the cultural hubs for events marking International Women's Day in Madrid.
The music programme, which starts on 17 March with one of the most famous performers of religious music in the world, Lebanese nun Sister Marie Keyrouz, will also include a performance by the winner of the 2014 National Award for Modern Music, Carmen París, presenting her work Ejazz con Jota. There will also be two jazz concerts, one featuring duo revelation Andrea Motis and Joan Chamorro plus another by Norwegian singer Rebekka Bakken, who will be reprising Tom Waits numbers.
In addition to all this, a programme to mark the occasion has been specially designed by the association of live music venues, La Noche en Vivo, which will be collaborating with Ellas Crean once again with the support of the Region of Madrid's General Directorate for Women. More than 20 of the live music venues in Madrid will be taking part in the programme, hosting around fifty concerts starring the same number of performers, all women who feature regularly on the Madrid music circuit.
From 17 to 26 of march of 2015
